Light Up Your Dog for Safety Dog E Glow - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

Winner Comment #101 Congrats!

Have you ever walked your dog at night and worried that traffic might not see you? That is my problem being here in this complex. The buildings themselves have lights on them, but the horse shoe road and center cut through road have no street lights. I have resorted to carrying a flashlight at night when I take Zero for her nightly walks. Being I'm a night owl we tend to go out for a walk or to potty all hours through the night. A few times now I've had my flashlight batteries die and this complex has traffic through it all hours of the night and day, I've been coming through the center road when someone has been walking their dog and have to admit it was hard to see the dog. I now have a resolution to this night time walking issue, let me introduce you to Dog-E-Glow!

Dog-E-Glow is a company that has combined "technology and fashion" to create light up leashes and collars. Dog-E-Glow's LED light up collars and leashes come in a variety of colors and styles, up to and including a College Collection. There is a pattern and light up color to meet everyone's likes, tastes, and stylish wants! The light up collars and leashes were an innovative way to keep dog's and their owners safe, while "looking good for years to come". I can't stress how excited I was to learn about their products. This is a product I absolutely not only wanted to use, but really needed. As you can see from the picture below this is a shot of two of the buildings within the complex around midnight. It is very dark and very hard to see anything. This was shot from my front door.

I was sent the pink plaid collar and leash by Dog-E-Glow for the purposes of this review. Pink Plaid fit perfect with Zero, because every one of her dog accessories is pink or has pink in it. As you can see from the picture the items are indeed pink plaid. The black button on both is the button you push to light them up. One push is a solid light up and push the button again and they blink! I thought this was innovation genius at it's best. I'm not exactly sure what type of strip is within each leash or collar, but they light up really bright. The collar was easily adjustable to fit Zero's neck and hooks together with a normal dog collar clip. The leash is heavy, sturdy, and long. I like a longer leash so this leash I really do love. An added bonus is the handle of the leash is lined with neoprene. If you have dogs or horses and have ever had a nylon leash, lead, or halter get pulled through your hands really quick and get a gash, you know that it's ten times worse than any paper cut you could ever get; so the neoprene lining on the leash handle makes the leash easier to grip, hold on to, and is actually more comfortable than just a plain nylon loop! Next to the lighting up the neoprene handle was my favorite! Both collar and leash come with extra batteries! Double Bonus!

I've had ample time to play with these light up items walking Zero at night. I walked her through the side lawn where it is darkest just to see how bright they really were, they are really that bright. They make your dog and you easier to see for traffic. You literally stand out, the lights are much better than any reflective item you could put on you or your dog. However, you don't have to live in a not so well lit area to use the Dog E Glow collars and leashes, they work just as great in well lit areas too! I had a friend stand far off and tell me how well they could see the pink lights moving.. their reaction was you could faintly see the pink lights from far away and as you got closer to could clearly distinguish that it was indeed Zero and I walking. I now feel much safer walking Zero at night than I previously had. It is amazing how a leash and collar that light up can give you the confidence in knowing that traffic is going to see you at night, they sooooo stand out! I am so happy and delighted to have found the Dog E Glow LED light up leashes and collars! Below are some pictures I took of Zero with her pink plaid leash and collar on.... both with a flash and without a flash so you can see just how bright they are in the dark..
